Who We Are
Metro Construction was founded in 2004 with a focus on High Quality Residential
and Light Commercial projects.
We believe in creating strong relationships with our clients so that every project
we undertake is completed with integrity and dedication. Our attention and commitment
to our clients and subcontractors is second to none.
Metro Construction was conceived by two colleagues who decided that it was time
to integrate their business management and construction experience. Greg and Zak
found that their individual backgrounds led to a unique combination of skills on
which to found Metro.
Zak Williams graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Postgraduate Diploma of Management
Systems and a Masters in Strategic and Project Management. He has worked as
a Business Analyst and Project Manager for companies such as Orica AU, Sainsbury’s
UK, British American Tobacco, and Woolworths. Zak entered the construction industry
around 10 years ago, has completed the National Certificate in Carpentry (Trade Certificate) and Carpentry & Site 2 Builder Licences.
Greg Nell has completed an apprenticeship and has been a builder for 18 years working in the United States, England
and New Zealand. Greg has completed the licencing process gaining carpentry and Site 2 (Site 2 is the highest licence available for residential
and commercial buildings, Site 3 is for building airports, stadiums, hospitals etc). Greg also has experience in event management and has been a
foreman for several Auckland based companies.
In 2010 Zak moved to Brisbane Australia to chase a girl (he since caught her and will be married soon). Zak is working for the University of Queensland as a Construction Project Manager.
Greg has bought Zaks share of the business and has continue to operate using the same established principles and values.
